Hello and welcome to our website! We are pleased to be able to introduce you to St. Michael's and provide you with all the important information relating to the school. This website tells you about our aims, policies and organisation, as well as describing a little of what life is like both in our school and our vibrant village community.
The school was founded over 150 years ago by the Church of England, and we remain happily situated, both geographically and spiritually, close to our village Church. As a Primary School, we constitute the first steps for a child into education and life beyond. This is a pivotal moment, and our aim is to ensure every child feels cherished, supported and enthused about each and every day they spend at school. Furthermore, we believe academic achievement and personal development are equally important, and a stimulating and happy learning environment fosters both. That is what we provide here at St. Michael's.
We are fortunate though. Not only is Aldbourne a picturesque village,
it is also home to a friendly and thriving community, and the school
has become an important part of the life of the village and its events
and activities. We receive exceptional support from our Parent School
Association who, amongst other things, organise a wide range of
enjoyable and imaginative fundraising events during the year. We also
have a dedicated Board of Governors, whose remit is to ensure success
and stability for the school for generations to come.
We hope you will find everything you need on this website. If there is
anything else we can help you with, or you would like to arrange a
visit, please do not hesitate to contact the school on 01672 540434.
You will be assured of a very warm welcome.
Yours sincerely

Susan Smith
